Approval of Daltonganj Gaya Ji Rail — Budget of ₹20 Crores Released

The distance from Jharkhand's capital Ranchi to Patna is about to reduce significantly. The Gaya Ji–Sherghati–Daltonganj rail line has been approved, and the Ministry of Railways has released a budget of ₹20 crore for the survey of this railway line.

Key Fact: This project of East Central Railway was proposed for a long time, but for the first time, funds have been released for it. After the completion of the survey work, the railway will start laying the tracks.

Many Blocks Will Be Connected

At present, it takes 9 to 14 hours to go from Ranchi to Patna. After the project, the distance from Ranchi to Patna will reduce by about three hours, while Palamu to Patna will reduce to about four hours. Blocks including Gaya Ji's Sherghati, Imamganj, Dumariya, Palamu's Naudiha Baxzar, Chhatarpur, and Nawabazar will all be connected.

Survey to Be Completed in 2–3 Months

According to the railway official, the survey work will be completed in two to three months. Railway Development Corporation will carry out the survey. The Gaya Ji–Daltonganj rail line will be about 120 km long. After the survey, DPR will be issued and financial permission will be granted.

Strategic Connectivity & Real Estate Opportunities in Sherghati & Imamganj

The Daltonganj-Gaya Ji rail corridor is more than just a transit project; it is a massive economic catalyst for southwestern Bihar. Historically, regions like Sherghati, Imamganj, and Dumariya have relied entirely on road transit. The inclusion of these major blocks into a high-speed broad-gauge railway network will instantly unlock their potential as agricultural and logistics trading hubs.

For smart property buyers, the immediate focus is on land parcels situated along the primary national highway corridors intersecting the proposed rail paths. The commercial land adjacent to these future junctions is poised for massive appreciation. Bhumimitra recommends early-stage tracking of the survey routes so that buyers can secure plots with pristine title history before structural development drives market prices out of reach.

Key Structural Benefits of the Project

This massive ₹20 crore survey represents the foundation of several regional shifts:

  • Interstate Integration: Seamlessly connects Jharkhand's industrial capital, Ranchi, to Bihar's capital, Patna.
  • Logistical Efficiency: Lowers transportation costs for local agricultural produce and mining materials from Palamu.
  • Suburban Expansion: Encourages development of suburban layouts in Sherghati and Dumariya, easing density in Gaya Ji City.
  • Secure Title Environment: Promotes digital land mapping and registration verification throughout the project corridors.
