The Gaya Ji–Sherghati–Daltonganj rail line has been approved, and the Ministry of Railways has released a budget of ₹20 crore for the survey of this railway line. This is the first time funds have been released for this long-proposed East Central Railway project.
Many Blocks Will Be Connected
At present, it takes 9 to 14 hours to go from Ranchi to Patna. After the project, the distance from Ranchi to Patna will reduce by about three hours, while Palamu to Patna will reduce to about four hours. Blocks including Gaya Ji's Sherghati, Imamganj, Dumariya, Palamu's Naudiha Baxzar, Chhatarpur, and Nawabazar will all be connected by this 120 km rail line.
Survey to Be Completed in 2–3 Months
According to railway officials, the survey work will be completed in two to three months. The Gaya Ji–Daltonganj rail line will be approximately 120 km long. After the survey, a Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be issued and financial permission will be granted to proceed with construction.
